Beau is a platform that helps clients discover and book trusted makeup artists in their area. Clients can search by location, service, style, cultural specialties, and availability, browse artist portfolios, and book directly through the platform. For artists, Beau provides the business infrastructure needed to manage and grow an independent beauty business. From booking management and calendar integration to client communication and business operation tools, Beau empowers artists to run their businesses on their own terms.

Beau is free to join for both clients and makeup artists. In most states, Beau will charge a booking fee for services booked through the platform. Bookings for spray tan services only are exempt — you pay your artist's price with no booking fee added. In Connecticut, Hawaii, New Mexico, and South Dakota, payment is handled directly between the client and artist until Beau expands payments to those markets.

When you search for a makeup artist, Beau automatically verifies each artist's availability against your requested ready-by time, helping ensure that the artists shown in your results can realistically take and complete your appointment.

In most states, payments for deposits, final services, and cancellation fees can be processed securely on the platform using Stripe. In Connecticut, Hawaii, New Mexico, and South Dakota, payment for services is currently handled directly between clients and artists using their preferred method (e.g. Zelle, Venmo, cash). We’re actively working to expand integrated payment processing to those states.

Search for makeup artists by service, location, and your desired ready-by time. Once you create a client profile, you'll unlock additional filters such as hair, cultural events, and languages spoken. Browse artist profiles, explore their portfolios and pricing, and send a booking request directly through Beau. A client profile is required to submit a booking request. After reviewing your request, the artist will send you a quote. If you'd like to move forward, simply accept the quote to confirm the booking.

Yes! Clients have their own profiles on Beau, and you'll need to create one before sending a booking request to an artist. To get started, click Sign up in the top-right corner and complete the profile setup questions. The process takes about five minutes and helps artists better understand your preferences and booking needs.

Beau artists are available for weddings, engagement shoots, photoshoots, proms, galas, film and TV productions, editorial work, everyday occasions, and more. When you submit your booking request, include details about your event so your artist can come prepared.

After you submit a booking request, your artist will send you a quote. Once you review and accept the quote, the booking moves to a Confirmed status and appears in your Upcoming tab.

You can message your artist directly through the Beau platform. Use this to share inspiration photos, discuss your look, ask questions, or coordinate logistics before your appointment.

Click the "Sign up" button in the top right corner of the site. You'll be guided through a series of steps to create your profile, set your services and pricing, and connect your calendar. Some steps are skippable and can be added-to later once your profile has been created.

We currently review all artist applications manually, including a review of your Instagram and portfolio.

Yes, completely. You control your pricing for every service you offer, including travel fees, group rates, and add-ons.

You manage your availability directly in Beau. Mark the dates and times you're available, block off time you're not, and sync your Google Calendar to avoid double-booking. Your calendar works in conjunction with client search. You'll only appear in results when you have enough availability to take the appointment.

No. Your calendar is only visible to you. Clients see your availability reflected in search results, but they cannot view your calendar details.

Once a client has accepted your quote, the booking will move to a Confirmed status and move to your Upcoming tab.

Your late and cancellation policies are displayed on your profile so clients are informed before booking. In most states, these fees can be enforced securely on the platform using Stripe. In Connecticut, Hawaii, New Mexico, and South Dakota, enforcing these fees is managed directly between you and the client.
