Artist Tutorials
Short walkthroughs for getting the most out of your Beau artist account.
How to sign up as an artist
Create your artist profile and set up your services so clients can find and book you.
- Go to the sign-up page and select "Artist," then tap Continue.
- Enter your email, password, and confirm your password.
- Check your email for your verification link and confirm your account.
- Enter your first name, last name, and birthday. You can optionally add your gender and pronouns.
- Enter your zip code to confirm your location.
- Select the type of work you do (Bridal, Glam, Special Events, Editorial, Special FX, Film & TV, Theater, Face & Body, etc.) and whether you also do hair.
- Add any cultural events you have experience with, and any languages you speak besides English.
- Upload a profile photo, write a short bio, and add your social links (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter/X, Website).
- Set your late and cancellation fee policies.
- Set your travel preferences — your travel zip code, how far you're willing to travel, and how travel fees are handled.
- Create your services. For each one, add a name, price range, duration, description, and whether it requires a deposit.
- Select your working days, and connect an external calendar like Google Calendar if you have one.
- That's it! You'll be taken to your artist dashboard.
How to edit your profile
Update your bio, portfolio, services, and more from your public profile page.
- Go to your profile page by tapping your name or photo, or using your profile link.
- Your profile has three tabs: "About," "Services," and "Reviews."
- On the About tab, tap "Edit About" to update your artist types, cultural styles, languages, and whether you do hair, then Save.
- Tap the pencil icon on your profile photo to update it, or on your portfolio gallery to upload or replace work photos.
- Tap "Edit" in the top action buttons to update your name, bio, location, pronouns, gender, and social links (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok).
- On the Services tab, tap "Manage Services" to add or edit services — name, price range, duration, description, and deposit requirements.
Profile link & settings
Share your booking link with clients, and manage your account settings.
- Tap "Share" on your profile to open your shareable profile link.
- Tap "Copy Link" to copy it, or use the social share buttons (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) to post it directly.
- Tap "Settings" to manage your account: update your email, change your password, turn email notifications on or off, and manage your privacy/cookie preferences.
Turning your profile on and off
Hide your profile from client search when you need a break, or while you're editing.
- On your profile page, find the "Profile Visibility" switch above your tabs.
- When it's on, your profile is visible to clients in search results.
- Tap the switch to turn it off — your profile is hidden from client search, but you can still edit it in peace. Your profile page is still reachable by direct link.
- The switch is disabled until your profile is complete (travel preferences, services, and calendar integration). Tapping it before then shows a reminder of what's missing.
Connecting Stripe
Connect Stripe so you can receive payouts when clients pay deposits and balances through Beau.
- On your artist dashboard, find the "Connect Stripe" banner near the top.
- Tap "Connect Stripe" — you'll be taken to Stripe's own onboarding to enter your business or personal info and bank account.
- Once you finish, you'll be redirected back to your dashboard, which checks your status with Stripe automatically.
- If everything is verified, the banner turns green and shows "Stripe payouts are connected," with a "View earnings" link.
- If Stripe is still verifying your info, you'll see a "Pending Stripe Connection" banner with "Refresh status" and "Continue Stripe setup" buttons.
Calendar sync & working days
Connect Google Calendar and set which days you're available to work.
- On your dashboard calendar, tap "Sync Calendar" to open Calendar & Availability Settings.
- Under "Google Calendar," tap "Connect Google Calendar" and approve access on Google's consent screen.
- Once connected, the button updates to "Sync Calendar" for future syncs.
- Under "Calendar Settings," tap "Manage Availability" to open your settings.
- Under "Working Days," check the days of the week you're available to work.
- Choose your "Default Calendar View" — Month, Week, or Day.
- Tap "Save Settings" to save your working days and preferences.
Creating a payment link for a client
Charge a client who isn't on Beau yet by creating a booking and sending them a payment link directly.
- On your dashboard calendar, tap the "New Booking" icon.
- Under "Who is this for?", enter your client's first name, last name, email, and phone — they don't need a Beau account.
- Enter the date, time, timezone, and location for the appointment, and select the service(s).
- In the Pricing section, enter your service amount, an optional travel fee, and the deposit due. You can also add an event type or notes.
- Tap "Create booking."
- You'll see a confirmation that the payment link was emailed to your client, along with a copyable "Deposit payment link" you can also send yourself.
What your client receives
A look at the payment link email your client gets after you create their booking.
- Your client receives an email with their quote and deposit breakdown.
- They can tap "Pay Deposit" directly from the email — no Beau account needed.
- Once they pay, their booking is confirmed and you'll see the payment reflected on your dashboard.
